Ghoststar was flustered when she got back to camp. Cats who had stayed behind from the Gathering looked concerned at their leader's mood. Had something happened? Did a fight break out? The white she-cat had tried to keep her anxieties and excitement hidden but it showed through her gray eyes and in her movements. She knew she had to quiet the clan's concerns about her and what had happened at the Gathering. She leaped up onto Twilight Rock, looking silver in the drifting moon light.
"Twilightclan, the Gathering went well. Roseclan is doing fine and no fights occurred." She kept to a formal tone, though her tail tip twitched rapidly. "As for my actions at the Gathering...I guess I got a little nervous up in front of all those cats." She lied, hoping it would pass as a good excuse. "Get some rest." She dismissed the cats, leaping down from Twilight Rock with energy in her limbs. Starclan had come to her! They had visited her again in her waking hours. What did it mean though? The red she-cat she had seen once already had appeared in the crowd and then urgently headed back into Roseclan territory. She knew Scorchtooth had told her to watch out for a sign as to where the sacred place to talk to Starclan could be. Was that why the red cat appeared? Was the sacred place somewhere in Roseclan territory?
Ghoststar's anxieties heightened. How would they get to it then? She couldn't just walk up to Echostar and ask could she? And what if that wasn't even what the sign meant? More confused and nervous than ever, the white she-cat thought she might explode. Who knew being clan leader would be so stressful. Theres so much I don't know..so much I need to know. Maybe talking with Echostar is all I can do? Worried she might make a rash decision, she looked for Scorchtooth to talk to.
Boulderclaw rushed over to Tawnynight licking her forehead,"how was it tell all of what happened!?"he purred in between licked. "Everything went fine like Ghoststar said no fights, and they are fine."she spoke pulling her head away from the gray tom. Tawynight licked his cheek then walked past him to the usual shadow she layed in.
ReplyDeleteBoulderclaw was about to lay with her when she shot up and trotted over to Ghoststar's den."Well okay ill be here.." the tom looked disappointed and hurt when she left.
ReplyDelete"Umm Ghoststar? Can I talk to you for a moment?"she peered through the lichens.
Ghoststar was rushing to talk to Scorchtooth when the bracken colored she-cat came up to her. "Sure..." She said hesitantly glancing at the black medicine cat. "What is it Tawnynight?" She gave her her full attention, forcing herself to sit down and wrap her tail around her paws calmly. Her gray eyes still bubbled with her anxieties.
ReplyDelete"I was out for a walk two nights ago and I fell into the river, if Talonpaw hadn't helped me I wouldn't be here. I think he is ready to become a warrior he's listening to orders, his fighting skills took a huge leap, and his hunting skills have improved more than intented.."she spoke in a calm tone, but her eyes told the story with a death clenching fear.
ReplyDeleteGhoststar flicked an ear. Talonpaw was around the same age as Tawnynight so she couldn't say he was too young to be a Warrior. She had watched a training session of his once and had taken note that the flat faced ginger tom had improved in hunting, though he still wasn't the best. "Are you sure? He hasn't been training for very long." She mewed, pondering it over in her head.
ReplyDelete"I'm sure I'm lucky to be alive and if he saved me he would save anyone else in the clan with the same bravery and loyalty..."she nodded softly blinking away the fear trying hard to stay calm.
ReplyDeleteGhoststar admitted she was glad Talonpaw was there to save Tawnynight. But then again Featherpaw had saved Snakefang from the river too. Tawnynight was there to help her though... She licked her chest fur as she thought. She personally knew Talonpaw to be headstrong and impulsive, but he had changed since he joined the clan and met Tawnynight. "I'd agree he does seem to be ready to be a Warrior. Give it one more moon and I'll make him one." She purred.
ReplyDelete"Okay thank you Ghoststar I will train him some new moves to help him.."she bowed her head thankfully. Her tail swished from side to side as she walked away back to Boulderclaw but looked for her close apperentice wanting to tell him the good news.
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw had been talking to Featherpaw about what had happened at the Gathering. He was proud he had gotten to go.
ReplyDeleteScorchtooth veered into the medicine cat den as soon as they arrived in camp, for even though he knew Ghoststar would want to talk, he didn't want it to seem to urgent to the Clan and head into her den right away. Marigold...Sorrel, horsetail.. Alright, only marigold. "Now where's Silverpaw.." He knew fully well that it was late, but he wanted his apprentice prepared for any type of emergency that may occur that involved herbs they didn't have at the moment, day or night. Plus he knew he would just forget in the morning. "Silverpaw, hurry up and get in here." He muttered, sticking his head outside the den, eyes narrowed.
ReplyDeleteSnowpaw listened close by looking at Talonpaw with soft eyes.
ReplyDeleteTawnynight walked over to him sitting next to Featherpaw. Her tail twitched quietly. She noticed Snowpaw looking at him and glared harshly at her.
"Okay..okay.."she rushed inside the den before he bit off her nose.
DeleteTalonpaw drifted out of his tale of the Gathering. "Something you gotta tell me, Tawnynight?" She never really spoke to him when he was with the other Apprentices. The ginger tom pricked his ears.
ReplyDelete"Yeah..its good news.."she purred lightly to her friend. Tawnynight stood up when she spoke. "You will be a warrior in a moon! Isn't that great!"she couldn't hold in her excitment.
ReplyDelete"We need more marigold, we're low on the stock. Can you go out and find some? Try to check near the tangle bushes just a while before the river, near that bunch of oak(? i have no idea what trees we have cx) trees. But hurry back, I don't want you running into any of the midnight patrols. Then it'll take you twice as long for you to come back to camp." With you younger cats and your talkative attitudes.. He meowed, his back facing his apprentices as he began to sort more of the herbs.
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw couldn't believe his ears. He jumped to his paws too, spinning in a little circle as his excitement bubbled over. "I will!? That's awesome!" His tail arched over his back, glad this conversation was in front of the other Apprentices. "I can't believe this, how did you get Ghoststar to let me be a Warrior?"
ReplyDeleteSliverpaw was lost in thought for a moment then nodded, "I'll be right back.."she meowed softly walking out of the camp.
ReplyDelete"Well I told her how you have improved in your training and how you saved me on your own.."she purred watching him with pride.
Talonpaw puffed out his chest. "Yeah, I did do that didn't I?" He crouched, stalking forward almost quietly. "And I'm a great hunter now too!" His tail swished as he couldn't hide his excitement. The ginger tom stalked toward Tawnynight playfully.
ReplyDeleteShe dropped down into a crouch jumping over him and spun around batting him with her paw at his thigh. "Are you?"she purred but growled playfully at the same time.
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw spun around, crouching again and baring his teeth with a playful gaze. "Yeah, I could hunt you just like a little mouse." He pounced at her, keeping his claws sheathed.
ReplyDeleteTawnynight jumped up at him locking shoulders holding his gaze with her brilliant green eyes. "Are you gonna stay with that one?"she purred looking at him.
ReplyDeleteBoulderclaw looked over at the two jumping up with shock he walked over to them jealously clawed at his fur,"Tawnynight your not an apperentice stop messing around!!"he hissed baring his teeth while looking at Talonpaw. The brown she-cat engorged what he had said.
Boulderclaw looked at the two harshly. "No I don't have too. Tawnynight come on.."
Delete"I dont have to go with you or listen to you cause you're not my father...I don't share tounges with my father.."she hissed back harshly no longer messing around with him. "Now why don't you just run along and be a bramble in someone elses fur!"she growled turning her attention to Talonpaw, and continued to purr. Boulderclaw was hurt by her harsh word and just walked away with his head down. Laying down in their normal spot together.
"Good. Make sure to pick off any leaves that are wilted!" He called after her, hoping she wasn't a mousebrain like their other clanmates, who had traveled to closely to the flooding river.
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw balanced on his hind legs, keeping his forearms locked with hers. He was startled by Boulderclaw's rudeness. The ginger tom shot a glare his way. "Hey, leave us alone grandpa. Go back to the elders den and have someone pull the burr out of your fur." He said in a teasing tone, knowing he was Tawnynight's friend.
ReplyDelete"Yeah Boulderclaw lighten up!"she hissed lightly looking at him then returning her gaze to Talonpaw.
ReplyDelete"Got it!"she dashed off faster outside the camp being careful not to get to close to the river. Silverpaw put them between her chin and neck the she-cat walked back toward camp.
Boulderclaw looked at the two harshly,"no I don't have to, come on Tawnynight.." the she-cat looked at him harshly, "no I don't have to go woth you listen to you or please you I don't share tounges with my father or talk to my father. So why don't you go be a bramble in someone else's fur!" Her voice was deep and harsh and turned her soft attention to Talonpaw purring softly. Boulderclaw was hurt and shocked by her tone and slowly turned around walking over to their usual spot hanging his head low, and layed down.

DeleteTalonpaw felt a prick of satisfaction. He purred loudly. "You told him." He laughed, going back to their playing.
ReplyDeleteTawnynight looked over at the sad tom unable to believe she just said that. Of all the things to say to him and I say that...I am heartless...should u go talk to him and say sorry or just leave him alone? the fun and softness was taken from her as she thought that. She wasn't in the play full mood anymore. "Yeah..I guess I didn't.."her voice was sad and was absent from life.
ReplyDelete(i*)
DeleteTalonpaw swiveled his ears back, looking at her confused. Her mood had changed all of a sudden. He lashed his tai once. "You're gonna go apologize aren't you?" He asked with a bitterness.
ReplyDelete"I feel really bad I cant just leave things to that..."her ears flattened at his tone. she looked back over watching him play with the dirt sadly with his paw.
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw rolled his eyes. "Snowpaw, wanna practice battle moves?" He said to her with a friendliness, padding over to the white tabby she-cat.
ReplyDeleteThe she-cat jumped up with excitement,"Sure!"she walked closer to the ginger tom happily. Tawnynight watched him go was sadness but reminded herself he was only her apprentice nothing more, she walked over to her gray friend. "Hey...Boulderclaw...I-I'm sorry..do you want to go hunting?"she spoke loud as he looked up from messing with the dirt,"It's okay I was a bit controlling...and sure."the tom stood up still a little hurt but walked with her out of the camp.
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw didn't watch her go. He forced himself not to. He jumped at Snowpaw, bowling her over softly.
ReplyDeleteShe got up quickly leaping onto him claws sheathed holding him down with a loose paw.
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw battered her belly, admiring her skill.
ReplyDeleteshe lifted up and softly batting his ears running in a circle around him. "cant get the white shadow can you?"she teased.
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw jumped up, stumbling a bit. "Shadows aren't inherently fast." He retorted, eyes gleaming happily. He nipped gently at her striking paws.
ReplyDeleteshe stopped and pushed him lightly, "dont matter you couldnt catch me.."she purred and blushed lightly curling her tail up her thigh.
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw flicked an ear. "Oh really?" He took to chasing her.
ReplyDelete"Really..."she got ready to run when he came after her and to make sure she was fast to show him she was a good sweet cat that's got some feelings for him.
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw raced after her, chasing her around camp. She was fast and he knew he couldn't carry his heavy body at that pace for long. He ducked behind a den while she wasn't looking, prepared for an ambush attack.
ReplyDeleteGhoststar headed into Scorchtooth's den, her fur ruffled. She gave it a few licks before she entered. "Scorchtooth, we need to talk. I assume you noticed I had a vision at the Gathering?" She got right to the point, hoping the black tom's sarcasm wouldn't be too terrible.
She looked back to see if he was following but saw he wasn't following. Snowpaw stopped right where the ginger tom was hiding,"Talonpaw where did you go?"
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw burst out from behind the den, tackling her. They rolled a few times before he pinned her. "Aha! Caught you!" He purred, joy lighting his gaze.
ReplyDelete"Ha that's what you think..."she purred rolling him off her pinning him with a pleasnt purr. Later Boulderclaw and Tawnynight came back with plump voles, "Haha really I never knew that..."the she-cat purred quietly looking at the two cat pinning eachother playfully. why am I so jealous...of her!?
ReplyDeleteSpade snorted and licked his shoulder. Of course Ghoststar was made nervous by the gathering of cats. He was glad he didn't go. The other warriors made it clear to him that he was not allowed to engorge himself on the prey, and that if he wanted to eat he would have to drop off a piece of prey to pick one up. Dumb rules; he could survive better on his own. The tabby tom cat took to listening in on the other cats as they did whatever they do. Snowpaw and Talonpaw were battling, and then Tawnynight seemed to glower over Snowpaw with jealousy. Spade scoffed and laid his head down. "Too much drama for me," he mumbled to himself.
ReplyDeleteBrownfur padded into camp with exhausted paws from the journey. She glided over to the prey pile and picked up a mouse. Tomorrow she made a note to hunt. She laid down, happy for a rest, and ate the scrap.
Talonpaw noticed Tawnynight looking. He softened his gaze on the white tabby she cat pinning him. "You're a really great fighter." He purred with great feeling. The flat faces Ginger tom had given up the fight.
ReplyDeleteSnakefang came and sat beside Brownfur, casting a suspicois glance at Spade. He didn't trust him. "Hey, wanna tell me about the Gathering? What's Roseclan like?" He mewed to the honey colored she cat.
ReplyDelete"Thanks so are you..." Snowpaw looked over following his gaze rolling her eyes licking his ginger cheek. Tawnynight looked away from the two hiding her pain and jealousy from her ginger friend. Boulderclaw went to his nest and rested.
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw was surprised. He flattened his ears with embarrassment, heaving the she cat off him. "Thanks..." If that didn't make Tawnynight jealous I don't know what will.
ReplyDeleteTawnynight looked over again catching Talonpaw's eyes and the pain and jealousy showed threw her green eyes. She shot her gaze to a different object.Oh don't come over here...please don't...
ReplyDeleteBrownfur flicked an ear and looked up, meeting Snakefang's eyes. She licked the blood from her lips and replied, "RoseClan was friendly to us, considering. No fights broke out at all, there were no arguments as far as I know, and no one was glaring at each other, nor had ruffled fur. I talked with a she-cat named Cheerywind, who was polite to me."
ReplyDelete"I think the whole 2 clans did." The black tom scoffed, his back turned towards his leader as he continued on with his sorting. "You need to learn how to control that. Either cats will start asking questions, or think you're too weak to be standing up there." I have a feeling Nightflame will be one of the first to raise suspicion.. The old tom didn't care if he was a fellow medicine cat, he didn't like the looks of him, or of his apprentice. He was much too young to be a full medicine cat, and didn't seem like he took the job seriously. They just don't make younger cats like they used to! He thought sourly.
ReplyDeleteSnakefang nodded as she spoke. "That sounds good, so far we haven't had any trouble with the new clan." He narrowed his amber eyes. "But I wouldn't let our guard down just yet." He grabbed his own piece of prey and ate quietly.
ReplyDeleteGhoststar flattened her ears at his scolding. She ignored his words. "I saw this red cat again, an apparition. The cat was sitting in the crowd at first but then walked back into Roseclan territory." The white she cat mewed, her tone formal. She had to control her feelings, she agreed.
Talonpaw blinked at Snowpaw. "We should train together another time." He purred, "Ill see ya around." The Ginger tom padded over to his mentor, guard up.
ReplyDelete"Oh okay.."she growled in a low tone knowing he was going to Tawnynight. The she-cat walked away bitterly.
ReplyDeleteTawnynight didn't lift up her head to look at him but wanted to feel his fur instead of Boulderclaw's and regreted going with him instead of the ginger tom.
"How was hunting?"
ReplyDelete"Fine how was practice? "Tawnynight had a shaky voice still not looking up at the tom.
ReplyDelete"Great." Talonpaw meowed, flicking his tail tip. "But I'd like to go practice hunting with you. If you're up to it." The Ginger tabby wanted to make her jealous but now he felt bad.
ReplyDelete"Sure..." her mood didn't change as she stood up feeling like something just stabbed her in the chest but know it was just the cold jealouy.
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw headed for the training hollow.
ReplyDeleteTawnynight followed close behind him watching his muscles flex. She disappeared into the shadows and looped around the training hollow planning to ambush him.
ReplyDeleteBrownfur nodded. She didn't trust the other Clan too much, either, and was glad some other cat shared her suspicions. "We should never get too comfortable with them. Even though we may be allies, who knows what enemy cats would do for prey."
ReplyDelete"Hmm. Them again, huh? Did you get a good look at the cat? Strange features, or could you tell if it was male or female? And do you remember them from somewhere, most likely from the past?" He murmured, his voices going in and out of focus as he stuck his head in some of the clefts in the wall to store the herbs. "In more simpler words," He finally turned around to face Ghoststar. "Have you found out who this mysterious ancestor is?"
ReplyDeleteGhoststar sighed heavily with frustration. "No, they never stick around long enough for me to get a good look. This red cat though, she's female and smells of our territory but I've never known her." The white she cat couldn't sit still. "We have to go into Roseclan territory. "
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw looked back to find himself alone. "Tawnynight?" The Ginger tom padded unsuspecting around. The fur along his broad shoulders rose.
Snakefang nodded his agreement, glad one cat whole-heartedly agreed with him. "You know, its funny before this I would never have imagined myself in a clan." He thought of his old rouge life. "Caring for something beyond myself...its definitely a different feeling." He felt proud. Something he hadn't often felt before.
Tawnynight moved in random places around the ginger tom calling out his name in a faint whisper. "Talonpaw....hey Talonpaw...I'm right here..."she moved through the shadows quietly.
ReplyDelete"She must be an ancestor of the old TwilightClan, from long ago-" He didn't even have time to finish his sentence before Ghoststar made her proposal. "Have you even though about that at all? Right after a gathering? Wouldn't that seem a bit suspicious? Why would you want to go anyways? Do you realize this could determine our relationship with our neighboring Clan forever?" Scorchtooth pointed out.
ReplyDeleteBrownfur nodded. "I feel the same thing. BEing in a group of cats in peace instead of trying to rip each other's fur off for a piece of prey is wonderful. I simply adore how we work together to feed each other. If only the outside cats could understand that."
ReplyDeleteSnakefang was glad he wasn't the only one. "Me too." He took a few mouthfuls of his prey. "Even though I'm glad for the break of constant fighting...I'd like to get the chance to defend my clan." The thought made his whiskers tremble.
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw twisted around, his thoughts racing. He was afraid at first and panic almost over came him, but he calmed himself. That's Tawnynight's voice. She's testing you. He tried to pinpoint where she was, bracing himself for an ambush. He positioned his back toward some thorn bushes so nothing could creep up behind him.
Ghoststar narrowed her eyes. "Yes, I know that." The white she cat wanted her nine lives more than anything. "But starclan wants us to go there and find whatever they're leading us to!" She knew she sounded illogical. Starclan isn't a logical thing anyway.
"But what makes you think that the sacred area is there? For all we know it could be sunrises away from anyone of us." He paused for a moment, setting down his supplies. "I already know we are going, as your attitude won't allow me to say no, but what gave RoseClan off as an option? For all we know it could be sunrises away from either of us." I need to make sure we are being sensible about this, does Ghoststar realize this, too? "I, of course, will be coming too." He narrowed his eyes, as if challenging her.
ReplyDeleteTawnynight was up in the trees above him and jumped down onto his shoulders keeping her claw sheathed.
ReplyDeleteGhoststar looked him over, in a way sizing him up. Could Scorchtooth handle the trip? It could be far... She pricked her ears. "Alright, you can come. " She decided it would be just the two of them. "We wont bring anyone else. We don't want to look like a threat if Roseclan catches us." The white she cat felt her fur tingle with excitement. Ill finally meet with Starclan and get my nine lives! A slight ambition sparked in her. Ill be invincible.
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw shrieked in surprise. He dropped beneath her weight, but recognized his scent and the panic left him. He sheathed his claws and, in a feat of strength, lifted himself back up and threw her off by bucking up. He spun around to face her but got tangled up in a bramble. "Fox dung!"
"Ha-ha does it hurt?"she asked laughing having fallen on her rump holding herself up with a leg. Tawnynight's eyes were watery once she thought she calmed down she would start laughing while trying to breathe.
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw spoke through gritted teeth. "Nooe not at all!" He finally freed himself, coming to her and nudging her up. "Nice ambush." The flat faced Ginger tabby purred.
ReplyDelete"Ha-ha thanks nice thinking if the plan was to fall into the brambles..."she pressed her muzzle against his purring. Tawnynight pulled out some brambles from his fur hoping she wasn't hurting him. "sorry if that hurts..."
ReplyDelete"I don't believe I was asking for permission." Scorchtooth calmly meowed, but continued making the preparations in his head. "When should we leave? I should make traveling herbs, just in case. Going into another Clan's territory is one thing, but stealing food, well.." He hoped that Silverpaw would be able to handle everything while he was gone, however long it may be. "How far are you willing to go into their territory?"
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw shook out his thick Ginger pelt when she pulled off the last one. "No, I'm fine. I'm pretty tough you know." He purred, ears pricked. "I handled it pretty well." He nudged her.
ReplyDelete"We should leave tonight. Traveling in the dark will make it harder for Roseclan to catch us. We are the night hunters." Ghoststar narrowed her eyes. "As far as it takes, for Starclan."
"Yeah okay you call that tough, I call home tough you wouldn't last a day back home...and I wouldn't try to be as tough as them..."she gently pushed him the opposite direction then running the other way. All that was left was her sweet scent.
ReplyDeleteScorchtooth nodded. "Then I recommend that you rest today. And only let a few cats know... If this gets spread around, only StarClan will know what drama will unfold." He peeked his head out of the medicine cat den. "Silverpaw! Come on, we're going out." He turned back to Ghoststar. "I've got an apprentice to teach now. I believe we'll talk about this more later?"
ReplyDelete"Coming!" she yelled back to her mentor n turned away from what she was doing, and padded over to Scorchtooth. Silverpaw came over happily to the black tom waiting quietly for him to lead the way.
ReplyDeleteBrownfur nodded in agreement. "I would fight tooth and claw for this Clan. I'm not sure why I'm so loyal to it. I haven't been here long, yet I would eagerly defend it." She tilted her head. "It's odd, do you think?"
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw flicked an ear. "Where do you come from?" He realized how little he knew about her history.
ReplyDeleteGhoststar nodded her head in agreement ignoring his tone at the end. "Yes, be ready. We'll set out when you get back." She exited the den after him and looked around for Darkmoon.
Snakefang shook his head. "No, that's not odd, I feel the same way!" He flexed his claws. "We should having a training session sometime. Even warriors have to keep learning new things, right?"
"You don't want to know the answer to that question trust me..."she yelled from over her shoulder stopping looking back sweetly at the ginger tom.
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw trotted after her. "Why not?" An eerie sense creeper up on him.
ReplyDelete"Because I...I have done things I'm not proud of..."the cheerful tone left her voice as did the life from her eyes. "But if you have to know I'll tell you..."Tawnynight looked at into his eyes without feeling or color, her eyes were lifeless and cold like a winter's night.
ReplyDelete"We need more traveling herbs, so I'll show you the best places for them. Do you remember what they are?" Scorchtooth meowed, quizzing her.
ReplyDeleteThe she-cat thought for a moment then brightened up, "Yeah, towards the thick bramble bushes, right?" she looked up at her mentor gratefully. Silverpaw was used to his normal sour tone and crooked teeth.
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw wasn't sure if he wanted to know now. "Um...okay. Tell me." The Ginger tom mewed quietly, looking at her with wide brown eyes, tail twitching.
ReplyDeleteShe sat down looking at the groud moving it with a paw,"I came from a broke Bloodclan group. My father was scourage and I...I was to take his place, but I didn't want too. So, I came here...Blouderclaw was in the same group, and he came looking for me. But before I cae here I was forced to kill and the cats I have killed wher some I knew and I remember their eyes before I killed them. Oh how they pledded...Blouder mainly killed them for me, he didn't mind but soetimes it got to him..."Tawnynight looked up at him with sad and pale green eyes that pulled at his fur like a rose thorn.
ReplyDelete(Sometimes, were, and came*)
Delete(I'm having issues posting so if I've posted this like fifty times sorry)
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw felt the fear one feels when in the presence of a fox or badger; something that had killed and would kill without hesitation. He jumped at least a fox length back. "You're a murderer!" His Ginger fur bristled and his flat face was a mask of shock and fear. She was kin of a killer and was a killer herself. "Stay away from me!" He unsheathed his claws, but turned and ran away back to camp. I have to warn the clan about Tawnynight and Boulderclaw! He felt a sadness prick his heart. The cat he loved, he never really knew, and now could never trust.
Tawnynight felt her heart rip right out of her chest, "Talonpaw!" She raced after him on his heels like he was prey. "Talonpaw wait!!" Her voice had cracked with sadness.
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw's fear grew as she persued him. There was still a part of him that wanted to be with her. He stopped, skidding around to face her, not willing to have his back to the brown tabby. "What?! What more can you say?" His voice was shaky.
ReplyDeleteShe fell over him ramming noses, "Talonpaw its not like that if I didn't I would have been killed...and I...had Boulderclaw tell Ghoststar she already knows.." Tawnynight climbed off of him looking at with with her broke heart showing through her voice and eyes.
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw lashed his tail. Ghoststar accepted a killer into the clan? The flat faced tom's eyes flashed. "I would rather die than kill another cat." He spat.
ReplyDelete"Well I told you, you didn't want to know but u urged on.."she walked passed him with her head and tail low. When she got back to camp she was sad an lonely. So, Boulderclaw went to talk to her, and she gells him all about what they talked about.
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw waited awhile before he got back to camp. He walked in and saw Tawnynight with Boulderclaw. Probably plotting our murder.
ReplyDeleteBoulderclaw looked at Talonpaw with cold eyes as Tawnynight buried her face in his shoulder crying. "I really liked him, I still like him Boulderclaw what have I done..."she spoke during gasps and sobs. "If he felt the same way he would understand..." They spoke kinda loud but for only him to hear. Boulderclaw got up to go hunting. Tawnynight wouldn't eat or drink anything even when Boulderclaw helped her.
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw wanted to ignore her, but he was also pulled to help her.
ReplyDeleteTo be understanding. She likes me. The Ginger tom couldn't let himself though. She was a killer, he could never look at her the same. He went up to Ghoststar who appeared to be looking for someone. "Ghoststar...can we talk?" The she cat nodded, distractedly.
"Tawnynight you have to eat!" Her grew more and more worried.
ReplyDelete"What is it?"
ReplyDelete"I want..I want a new mentor for the last part of my training."
Ghoststar was shocked. "Why? Tawnynight has been a great mentor and you only have a moon left to go."
"I found out about her. Her past." Talonpaw spat.
Ghoststar narrowed her eyes. "Who she was?" The words had no effect on the young cat. "Alright. Fine. Ill announce it later."
Boulderclaw got tired of her not eating or drinking so went to Ghoststar. He walk to the enterence whistling a sweet toon, "hey beautiful can I-"he smelled Talonpaw and stopped his sentnce. "Can I talk to you?"
ReplyDeleteGhoststar turned her head to look at him. She flicked her tail at Talonpaw and dismissed him. As the young tom left she sighed and called Boulderclaw in. "What is it?" The bright white she-cat tried not to sound annoyed, looking at him with gray eyes.
ReplyDelete"Hey I'm worried about Tawnynight, she hasn't been eating or drinking and I don't know what to do and I was wondering if you and I could go hunting later..or tomorrow which ever works.."he looked up at his leader with soft eyes. He didn't seem like the killing type.
ReplyDeleteGhoststar flattened her ears for two reasons. One, she was concerned for Tawnynight. Two, his request. He was handsome and charming. But the pale she cat didn't need him, or anyone. "I will talk to Tawnynight and have Scorchtooth look her over." Her gaze dropped to her paws. "And, Boulderclaw, our last hunting patrol you seemed more focused on me than the prey. Ill have to decline."
ReplyDelete"oh,it...its okay...i understand its wrong to get to know my leader while hunting. and thank you..."he walked out sadly.
ReplyDeleteTawnynight was just outside of camp sitting in front of a puddle looking at her refection only seeing her father and mother's features. She swiped the puddle with anger and sadness." I'm a monster!" her fur bristled as she spoke she could feel her fathers hate boil inside her.
Ghoststar took a step after him, hesitating. "Boulderclaw.." She looked away when he turned back to her. "I'm actually going on a trip soon...I don't know when Ill be back but, we can hunt then okay?" Her gray eyes warned him not to ask about the trip.
ReplyDeleteTalonpaw went to the Apprentice den and curled up on his nest. He couldn't stop thinking of Tawnynight.
Brownfur nodded. "Certainly! We need to be on our tows no matter what happens. Badgers, rogues, foxes... even if we're not apprentices, we have room to improve." Tawnynight and Talonpaw padded into camp, with her sulking and him looking as if he saw a ghost. Brownfur flicked an ear, wondering what was up with them.
ReplyDelete(Oh, man. *Toes)
ReplyDeleteBoulderclaw stopped not turning around, "okay great I'll walk to you later.."he cheered up only a little. He was still worried about his old friend.
ReplyDeleteTawynight was on the other side of the apperentice's den and was hissing n puffing about her screwed up past. "Ugh!!"

Delete(thought I commented??? weird e.o pretty sure my comment just didn't go through ugh)
ReplyDeleteScorchtooth traveled onward. "And what are they used for?" He meowed, not slowing down his pace as he continued his on slur of questions. "And do you remember what the herbs are? You can't be a good medicine cat if you can't remember things!" He pointed out, craning his head over his shoulder so she could hear him.
Silverpaw pricked her ears trotting to get beside him, "I don't remember what they are called but if I remember right they give you energy for the travel correct?"she spoke sweetly admiring her wise mentor. I know thing ugh!! I hope he doesn't get grouchy, he's more fun when his voice don't have the venom like tone...

DeleteGhoststar padded over to Tawnynight. "Is something wrong?" She mewed in a stern tone, but her eyes glistened with concern. The white she cat settled beside the warrior, knowing it was getting late and she and scorchtooth would leave soon.
ReplyDeleteShe looked up with sad eyes, "No its nothing..."Tawnynight felt alone even as her white leader sat next to her.
ReplyDelete"Boulderclaw tells me you won't eat or drink." She flattened her ears.
ReplyDelete"Yeah so I better off dead n gone anyway.."she said looking for Talonpaw n hope he could hear her. "I..is that all he told you?"she looked over at Ghoststar with slow eyes.
ReplyDeleteGhoststar looked at her with concern. "Is there more? Why would you think you should be dead?" She wondered who she was looking for. "You're a great warrior...Does this have something to do with Talonpaw asking for a mew mentor?"
ReplyDelete"He asked for a new mentor!?"she gasped with pain piercing at her heart. "I like him a lot and now he doesn't like me!"she hid her face in her arms.
ReplyDelete"You're forgetting things." Scorchtooth meowed as he abruptly stopped in a small meadow. "Burnet is best found here, and grows better when the soil's dry. And not only are traveling herbs used for not getting hungry, but also to get more energy and strength. Are you going to remember this now?" He asked, his tone sharp, his eyes only slits. "Now hurry up and get a few stems, I'm late for dinner." He meowed, going to a bushel and nipping off a few herbs. "I have somewhere to be soon, so you'll be in charge while I'm gone. Don't screw up."
ReplyDelete"Yeah I will and don't worry you can count on me."she smiled at him as she turned to get the stems.
ReplyDeleteDarkmoon looked up as Ghoststar exited a den. "Hello, Ghoststar!"
ReplyDeleteTawnynight looked up with anger and sadness.
ReplyDeleteOnce he saw that they had collected an ample pile of stems, he decided it was time to head home. "Once I'm gone just make sure to do a round of check-ups. If anything seems out of the ordinary just report when I get back. Also, don't try treating something if you don't know how to." He narrowed his eyes. "That's how accidents happen. So don't be a mousebrain." A few more fox-lengths ahead, he could see the entrance. Ghoststar better be ready...
ReplyDelete"I won"t don"t worry just worry about what you and Ghoststar are looking for, I got this." she ignored his blunt insult.

DeleteGhoststar looked over at Darkmoon, then back at Tawnynight. "You're a warrior, and personal things need to be put aside." She mewed sternly, not having time for that. The white she-cat turned to Darkmoon. "Ill be leaving with scorchtooth for awhile. You're in charge when I'm gone and silverpaw will take over scorchtooth's duties." She mewed, hoping the black deputy wouldn't ask about their trip.
ReplyDelete"I would say thanks for helping, but you didn't..."she walked away as she spat that horrible comment. Tawnyngiht wondered if anything was worth living for besides the clan; wondering if leaving was worth it.
ReplyDeleteDarkmoon opened her mouth to ask about Ghoststar's trip, but she noticed a look in the her leader's eyes and stopped herself from saying anything
