The Gathering

Ghoststar couldn't stop pacing. The day had slid by slowly; the white she-cat had spent it going on any patrol she could. She had to try and distract herself, make the time pass by faster. It was finally night and the moon shone brightly in the star lit sky. Ghoststar couldn't bring herself to look up at the beautiful scenery though. She couldn't stop thinking about what Scorchtooth said. Did she know enough about clan life? Or was he right, that she was inexperienced. I'm worthy of being leader..aren't I?
She was broke from her thoughts by Darkmoon. The black she-cat came up and asked Ghoststar if they should get going. She seemed eager. So am I. She got the group together and they set out. All the cats muttered excitedly, their mews growing in intensity as they neared the meeting place. Ghoststar was in the lead, but suddenly felt vulnerable. Was it such a good idea going to a gathering the clan wasn't even familiar with? What if this was a trap? We're been practicing our battle skills...we'll be ready. They got to the clearing and Ghoststar stopped everyone with a raised tail. To hide her white pelt she kept low and crouched in the thickest of fern patches.
"What are we waiting for?" Scorchtooth snapped from beside her. Ghoststar narrowed her eyes, giving him a silencing look that he grumbled about. They were Twilightclan. This was a good time to make first impressions. Twilightclan are like shadows...silent attackers of the night. That's how Ghoststar wanted them to be seen. She peeped through the ferns and saw the small group of cats. Roseclan had only half the cats Twilightclan had brought. They must really want to keep their camp defended. Ghoststar hoped she hadn't made a mistake in taking so many cats. Waving her tail, she had her comrades surround the group silently and stealthily.
With another silent flick of the tail they raced down the slope. Ghoststar hoped it gave on the effect of stealth and almost a sense of fear. Twilightclan will strike fear into any clan that borders us. Keep them from fighting us. Ghoststar waved her tail in greeting to EchoStar and the cats milled about, able to talk for a bit as they settled.

  1. Echostar approached Ghoststar. "Hello, Ghoststar. How are you?"

  2. Ghoststar couldn't hold back the purr in her mew. "I'm great, this has been an exciting couple days." She sat, wrapping her tail around her paws. "How are you?" She was aware her pelt was unnaturally bright in the moon light and tried to push away her insecurity.

Almonddash was waiting impatiently for the Twilightclan cats to get there. When they did, he searched the crowd for Darkmoon eagerly.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Echostar sat down next to Ghoststar. "I've been fine," she purred, "all of RoseClan was excited about this."

Darkmoon looked around, trying to find Almonddash. She didn't know why, she felt like she needed to talk to him.

    ReplyDelete
  4. "Twilightclan too." Ghoststar mewed. "This is a good meeting place." She looked around the clearing, her eyes drifting to the stars. I wonder if EchoStar knows about Starclan and clan stuff... She had to ask. "EchoStar, does your clan follow Starclan?"

Almonddash spotted her by her eyes as they stood out against her black pelt. He couldn't stop his paws from coming to her and tried not to seem to excited. He walked casually, but puffed out his chest a bit. Just one Deputy talking to another right?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Echostar looked at Ghoststar. "Of course! My mother, Rosestar, and Silverpaw's deceased mentor, Spiritcaller, taught me everything I know about StarClan. And I passed those skills down to Silverpaw, Thornstrike, Goldenheart, and Berrypaw; the first members of RoseClan, and our newer ones are learning about them."

Darkmoon spotted Almonddash and walked over to him. "Hi. You're Almonddash, correct?"

    ReplyDelete
  6. Almonddash felt his heart thump faster. She remembered my name! "Yea, Deputy of Twilightclan." He mewed, his tail feathery tail curled at the tip. "And you're Darkmoon, right? Fitting name. Your eyes are as bright as this moon and against dark fur like that...wow." He admired her features. Flirting came naturally to him.

Ghoststar was a bit surprised. "Really?" She looked at her paws for a moment. "I only just discovered Starclan..." She flicked her tail tip a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Darkmoon narrowed her eyes at him. He was flirting. She hated flirts, but for some reason, she liked it. "Um, thanks..."

Echostar's eyes widened in shock. "Really? Did they come to you in your dreams?"

    ReplyDelete
  8. Almonddash noticed her look. He hoped he wasn't coming on too strong. "So, um, how long have you been with Twilightclan?" Did I just say um? He never before had problems with thinking of something to say.

Ghoststar pricked her ears. "Yea, strange dreams. They don't make any sense but I would see foggy cats and they would tell me things that later happened." She suddenly felt as though she was being to open with a cat from another clan. It can't hurt to tell her...

    ReplyDelete
  9. "I joined about half a moon ago; I saved one of the apprentices from a badger and Ghoststar made me deputy. How long have you been in RoseClan?"

Echostar nodded. "If you can't tell what a dream means, go to your Medicine Cat, most of the time, they'll know what it means, or at least have a close guess to what it means."

    ReplyDelete
  10. Almonddash pricked his ears. "That's amazing." He wished he had something brave he did to become Deputy. "I joined probably around the same time at Roseclan...Echostar just chose me for Deputy first day I got there." He laughed, a little embarrassed.

Ghoststar flattened her ears. "Well, our Medicine cat is a bit grouchy sometimes...most of the time." She purred with humor.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Darkmoon's ears twitched. "She probably really must trust you, you know, 'cause you barely knew each other, and she made you Deputy..."

Echostar's ears twitched in amusement. "As well as ours"

    ReplyDelete
  12. "Maybe they'll be friends." Ghoststar laughed. She looked out at the other cats, hoping they were getting along. "How long has Roseclan been around this territory?" She mewed curiously.

Almonddash noticed her sarcasm. "Right, well guess I've just got a trustworthy feel about me." He purred. "Do you trust me?" There was mischief in his eyes.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Echostar shrugged. "I don't know... I lost track of time after Goldenheart and Silverpaw joined... They were the very first. Berrypaw soon followed, and then Thornstrike came in. We stayed like that for several moons, I believe, and then Cherrywind and her sons joined."

Darkmoon's ear twitched, and shrugged. "How am I supposed to trust a tom I barely know?" She turned around and flicked her tail in his face. "After all, you're from an enemy clan."

    ReplyDelete
  14. Almonddash caught her scent as she did so. It tickled his nose but was pleasant. The calico tom came up beside her. "Guess I don't look as trustworthy as I thought. Our clans aren't enemies." Yet... "Do you trust me enough to hunt with me before the gathering starts?" He noticed Echostar and Ghoststar chatting.

Ghoststar flicked an ear. "You've been around longer than Twilightclan. We've only been in this territory for a few moons now. Why didn't you sretch your borders farther out with no cats around?"

    ReplyDelete
  15. Brownfur stalked after her Clan, ears pricked. She could hardly contain her excitement. This was a chance for her to learn more about Clan life. She melted into the group easily, ears pricked and eyes bright. The mingling of scents and cats was a new feeling for her. Usually she wasn't in such large groups, with so many cats she didn't know. She slinked to the back, eyes darting to each of the figures.

Birdpaw's fur was fluffed out, her tail lashing. This Gathering was going to be the best since it was the first and she was present. Almonddash, her new mentor, was going off with the TwilightClan deputy. She shrugged it off, because here cats were supposed to mingle. This was her chance to see what the TwilightClan apprentices were made of. With a lashing tail, she started to creep on a fluffy ginger tom. She raced forward and leaped on him. "Gotcha!" She squeaked. She looked down at the small, flat-faced tom with sparkling eyes. "Hi, I'm Birdpaw. The best apprentice of RoseClan."

    ReplyDelete
  16. Talonpaw was surprised when the little she-cat pounced on him and even more surprised she managed to take him down. "Hey! You just surprised me that's all." He couldn't be mad at her bright eyes. "I'm Talonpaw, the best Apprentice in the whole forest." He challenged genlty knocking her off of him.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Birdpaw snorted and straightened once Talonpaw had gotten her off. "The whole forest? Sure, but I'm the best apprentice in the history of /all/ Clans." She flicked her tail around her paws. "I just joined RoseClan yesterday, after fighting a mangy rogue for some food. He joined too, but he didn't come to the Gathering."

    ReplyDelete
  18. Talonpaw puffed out his chest. "Well I'm the best Apprentice in the history of all cats! Ever!" He didn't think that sounded very clever but didn't care. "You got to fight a rouge?" The tom's brown eyes sparked, that was impressive. "I saw a badger!"

    ReplyDelete
  19. Birdpaw's eyes widened. She heard rumors of badgers and what they could bring. "A badger?" She said in a stifled gasp. "What did you do? Did you fight it off?"

    ReplyDelete
  20. Talonpaw flattened his ears, recalling the way he turned tail and ran when the badger burst out of the bushes. "Well...I," He looked at the small she-cat's wide eyes. "I lead it away from camp, pretending to be afraid. I was bait, you could say." He mewed proudly. That's not lieing..

    ReplyDelete
  21. Birdpaw blinked a few times. "Wow, that's a pretty clever plan. I guess TwilightClan cats are sneaky /and/ smart." She wished she knew enough about RoseClan to know what they were good at, but she hadn't even started her training yet...

    ReplyDelete
  22. Talonpaw swished his bushy tail. "Yea, we are." He purred. "But fighting off a rouge that's brave!" He wanted to bring the earlier light back into Birdpaw's eyes.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Birdpaw nodded with agreement, the light returning. "Oh, yes. The rogue was asking for it. He tried to take /my/ mouse, that's like breaking the Warrior Code. Naturally, I had to put him in his place." She delivered a lick to her shoulder. "How long have you been training?"

    ReplyDelete
  24. Talonpaw purred at the story, but cocked his head a little. "Warrior code? I've been training for only a few moons, was a rouge before." He mewed.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Birdpaw tilted her head. "I was a rogue, myself. The first thing Almonddash taught me was the Warrior Code. Do you know about it?"

    ReplyDelete
  26. Talonpaw swiveled his ears back. "Nope, never even heard of it." He hoped it wasn't important. I can't be behind in my training! He didn't think anyone in Twilightclan knew about it, it hadn't been mentioned.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Birdpaw gave him an odd look. "What do you mean you don't know about the Warrior Code? It is the driving force on what we do. It says we can't go onto other Clan's territories, or kill another cat to win battles. It also says we cannot mate with cats from different Clans... it's really important!"

    ReplyDelete
  28. Talonpaw flicked an ear at that last part. "Isn't that all common sense though?" He tried to defend himself, flattening his ears. "Why does it need to be taught?"

    ReplyDelete
  29. Birdpaw shook her head. "No, there's plenty of important things that it tells. Medicine Cats cannot mate, and they must focus on their duties. Kits cannot become apprentices until they are 6 moons old." She felt proud of herself for remembering the lesson her mentor had taught her.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Talonpaw glanced at Ghoststar. "Well maybe Twilightclan doesn't want to follow the warrior code." He spat, fluffing out his tail.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Birdpaw's eyes grew wide with shock. "T-TwilightClan doesn't want to follow the Warrior Code? W-will StarClan even allow that?"

    ReplyDelete
  32. Again Talonpaw was confused. "Who's Starclan??" By now his voice was irritated.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Birdpaw was almost disgusted by Talonpaw's lack of knowledge. "Our ancestors," she responded, shocked by this prospect. "They watch over all of the Clans."

    ReplyDelete
  34. Talonpaw blinked, remembering Tawnynight saying something about that. Again, he was skeptical. "Once you die you're dead! The dead don't care if we follow some dumb code."

    ReplyDelete
  35. Confused and horrified, Birdpaw shrank back. Almonddash told her it was important for the Clans for StarClan to be a big part of it. Since she wanted to fit in, she took in the beliefs. "I-I... but... Almonddash said they're very important. All of our dead ancestors watch over us and give our Medicine Cats signs."

    ReplyDelete
  36. Talonpaw was begin to be more and more confused. Was there a Starclan? Did the Warrior code matter? Were they not a clan without it? He didn't know what to think but he wasn't going to let a Roseclan Apprentice make Twilightclan look bad. "Well maybe Almonddash lied and maybe Medicine Cats make up signs to get their way!" He lashed his tail, not believing what he said but not believing what she said either. I'll believe whatever Ghoststar tells me..

    ReplyDelete
  37. "No, thanks, maybe some other time."

Echostar shrugged. "I don't know; I guess it was because since we were so small, we didn't need much territory, but since we're getting more cats, and rather quickly, we should expand a little..."

    ReplyDelete
  38. Almonddash brightened. She said another time! That wasn't a complete no. The calico tom felt as though she was trying to get away from him. But...the way she was looking at me before.. He couldn't tell if she liked him or not now. "Nice night isn't it?" Almonddash tried to keep thinking of things to say but was finding difficulty, which was a first for him. What's wrong with me?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Ghoststar twitched her tail tip. So long as you don't expand into our territory. "Well with no other clans around I'm wire both our growing clans will have room to expand in other directions." She mewed. The white she-cat looked out at the cats as they chatted.

      Delete
  39. Darkmoon smiled and nodded. "The weather is nice."

Echostar nodded. "If anything, we would expand closer towards the hills; the ones on the other side of my Clan's forest."

    ReplyDelete
  40. Scorchtooth padded towards the far end of the clearing, near the leaders, but still a couple of fox lengths away from them. Close enough to where he could still hear them, though. What is she doing! She might as well tell them to join our Clan, with how much she is giving away! Scorchtooth lashed his tail, for dreams weren't to be shared lightly. And if RoseClan decides to expand, there may be a battle, however 'nice' they seem now. We need land, too. Not feeling anymore motivation to eavesdrop, he settled down and closed his eyes, slightly trying to fall asleep. They better speak soon, or else I'm not moving.

    ReplyDelete
  41. (o3o Scorchtooth is a grumpy kitty o3o)

Silverpaw looked around for cats to talk to, as Nightflame wasn't talking. She walked up to Scorchtooth. "Hello; I'm Silverpaw, Nightflame's apprentice. You're Scorchtooth, right? The medicine cat of TwilightClan?"

    ReplyDelete
  42. Ghoststar nodded. That seemed a safe thing to do. It wouldn't get in Twilightclan's way. "We'll probably expand as far as we can to the two-leg place. There's lots of room there." The white she-cat felt anxiety in her chest. But then what...when we both run out of places to expand. She realized living next to another clan would make life difficult.

Nightflame sat at the back of the crowd with his feathery tail tightly wrapped around his paws. He didn't feel like talking, or walking for that matter. He had to hide his crippled leg. He saw Silverpaw walk over and talk to a grizzled tom. Is that their Medicine Cat?

Almonddash eyed the stars. "I wonder if Starclan is happy our clans met." He hoped so, but then remembered the warrior code. Starclan doesn't approve about how I feel about Darkmoon..its just a crush, right? No harm in that?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Tawnynight looked around nervously her paws felt like they were being pricked by thorns. She saw her apperentice she didnt feel so nervous, she walked up to him greeting him with a nudge on the shoulder with her muzzle.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Talonpaw had been glaring at Birdpaw, on his paws with claws slipping out. When Tawnynight touched his shoulder he dropped out of hostile attitude, turning to look at her. "Tawnynight!" He curled his bushy ginger tail up. He was glad to walk away from Birdpaw. "Do you like the Gathering so far..?" The flat-faced tom seemed aggitated.

  45. Darkmoon looked at Almonddash with a curious look. "You believe in StarClan?"

Echostar looked at Ghoststar. "Should we start?"

    ReplyDelete
  46. Scorchtooth peeped one eye open, now agitated he was awaken. "Yes." He mew gruffly, still on the edge with the new Clan. Medicine cat apprentice or not, he had to be on guard. Where is this cat's mentor? Shouldn't she not be walking around, bothering others? Eesh. "Why might you ask?"

    ReplyDelete
  47. Birdpaw blinked a few times. What if Almonddash was lying to her, and Talonpaw was right? What if Almonddash was talking a load of fox-dung? She would have to ask him later, when the cats were going home.
"I-I..." She decided to change the subject. "Do you know how a Gathering works? Did Ghoststar tell you?"

    ReplyDelete
  48. Silverpaw shrugged. "Nightflame's too grumpy; I got bored, and I wanted to see if any other cat would like to talk..."

    ReplyDelete
  49. "What would make me any different?" Scorchtooth muttered. "You need your younger kind. So go run off, find an apprentice or two." He yawned. "Why are you so eager to trust other cats? Back in my day, I stayed close to my mentor. Helped me get my smarts." But with yours, I can see how it can be hard to understand.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Silverpaw growled a little. "Well, maybe I'd like to get to know the other Medicine Cats; the Warrior apprentices would rather boast and brag about their hunting or fighting skills."

    ReplyDelete
  51. Ghoststar nodded. She leaped up onto a slanted tree, its trunk thick enough and the angle large enough that the white she cat could sit comfortably. She let out a yowl to get the other cats attention.

Almonddash was about to answer, but Ghoststar's yowl cut him off. He looked toward the leaders, sitting with his tail wrapped around his paws.

Talonpaw looked back to reply to Birdpaw, still irritated, but the yowl stopped him. He looked toward the leader.

Nightflame was watching Silverpaw talk to the other medicine cat. He decided to edge over there and just barely reached them when the gathering started. He sat and looked over at the leaders with icy eyes.

Cherrywind was chatting with Brownfur when the gathering started. The white and Ginger she-cat looked up. So far the gathering had been enjoyable.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Echostar leaped next to Ghoststar.

Darkmoon sat down next to Almonddash, a few mouse lengths away.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Ghoststar dipped her head for Echostar to start.

Almonddash let his tail tip touch Darkmoon's.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Brownfur looked up at Ghoststar. Evidently, this was what the Gathering was about- the Clans sharing tongues. It was a very pleasant idea in her opinion.

Birdpaw looked up at TwilightClan's leader, the spark returned to her eyes.

    ReplyDelete
  55. (:D TIME FOR CHEESY GATHERING SPEECH! :D YAAAY!)

Echostar nodded at Ghoststar and turned to the cats. "Cats of RoseClan and cats of TwilightClan, you are gathered here under the full moon of a our first Gathering. Just yesterday, we had no knowledge of each other's existence, but our patrols met at the border, and now, here we are!"

Darkmoon stiffed a little, but didn't move. What was Almonddash doing? she thought.

    ReplyDelete
  56. "What? You think as a medicine cat you need no other skills?" He growled back, his eyes surprisingly calm. "We aren't just dormouse's who sit still everyday collecting little plants. A good medicine cat knows how to protect their Clan, all means necessary. How do you think I got these?" He gestured towards his muzzle, for he had fought in many battles throughout his days. "Now I suggest you sit near your mentor now." He meowed gruffly, turning his head towards the two leaders.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Silverpaw growled. "I didn't mean it like that. I've haven't learned any battle skills yet."

    ReplyDelete
  58. Tawnynight stopped talking and turned her attention to the two leaders standing tall and proud.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Ghoststar looked out at the cats happily. "It will be a gift to have another clan at each of our borders. Roseclan and Twilightclan can be allies in a dangerous situation." She chimmed in with Echostar. The white she cat silently added, though I know things will not always be peaceful with our clans...

Almonddash was relieved she didn't move away. His tail tingled as the tip touched hers gently. He noticed the little space between them. The feathery calico hardly concentrated on the gathering; his mind was focused on Darkmoon.

    1. Tawnynight looked around at the other cats her gaze stopped at Talonpaw who stood tall and proud next to her. She got the goosebumps at the feeling she felt for him. what is wrong with me I can't think staright around him...I wonder if Talonpaw feels the same way.

  60. Talonpaw noticed Tawnynight looking at him and turned his head to her. Their noses gently touched. The fluffy ginger tom ducked his head with embarrassment, his pelt turning hot. "S-sorry." He whispered, butterflies in his stomach.

    ReplyDelete
  61. "No I'm sorry I didn't mean to be staring I...I was day dreaming.."her paws tingled with embarrassment the fur on her back and tail fluffed up.

    ReplyDelete
  62. "That's okay." He faked a shiver. "Its a chilly night..." The flat faced tom pressed up against her, looking back toward the leaders.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Tawnynight looked at the tom with soft green eyes, and turned her attention to the leaders again.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Birdpaw flicked her ear, her eyes not leaving the two leaders. Having another group of cats around would be different, maybe even a bit exciting. It would give her a motive to continue practicing her battling moves.

Brownfur nodded with agreement at the mention of the two Clans becoming allies. She thought about attacks from rogues or badgers, or maybe even foxes, and the two Clans fighting together. She knew very well that they wouldn't always be friends, but it was better than being enemies right off the bat.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Silverpae nodded in agreement. She had thought about what would come If another clan came and wasn't so friendly would Ghoststar be mice at first like she was with most cat that joined her clan?

    ReplyDelete
  66. I hope Ghoststar made the right decision about this group. Scorchtooth silently prayed. He knew things could get ugly between Clans, for there was never just 'peace'. Peace is a myth that only blinds others from the real issue. "Would you two quiet down over there?" He hissed quietly over to Tawnynight and Talonpaw. "Talk about your training elsewhere!" No respect..

    ReplyDelete
  67. Tawnynight's eyes were like green venom dripping through his fur. who stepped on his tail...

    ReplyDelete
  68. Talonpaw ducked his head, feeling guilty. "Sorry!" He whispered, turning his attention to the leaders. He stayed pressed up against Tawnynight though.

    ReplyDelete
  69. She looked back up at the cats but glanced down at Talonpaw every now and then. Tawnynight made a low deep purr wishing they could stay like that forever.

  70. (Echo r u gonna talk about how roseclan is?)

    ReplyDelete
  71. (I was waiting for Ghoststar to talk about how TwilightClan is)

    ReplyDelete
  72. (Oh I said she could start but ok)

Ghoststar continued. "Twilightclan is doing well. We haven't been a clan for very long, but we..." She trailed off, her gray eyes distant. The red cat was in the crowd, her bright green eyes glowing brighter than the other cats though her figure was faint. The apparition got up and padded back into Roseclan territory, glancing back. Ghoststar watched her go, cranning her neck. The white she cat looked back at the crowd and then at Scorchtooth, hoping her gaze would silently tell him what she saw. "We have grown in the past few moons. There was a badger in our territory but we haven't seen it in awhile..." Ghoststar was shaking slightly after the vision. Did anyone else see that?

Cherrywind narrowed her eyes at Ghoststar, looking around to see what she had been so distracted by.

Talonpaw thought maybe Ghoststar was nervous about the big audience.

Nightflame flicked an ear. It looked like Ghoststar had seen a ghost.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Tawnynight looked back her fur rose at the feeling of being watched by something or someone outside of the group.

    ReplyDelete
  74. (GASP! Who was the red cat?)

Echostar looked at curiously. "Are you ok?" she whispered quietly.

Darkmoon was gazing at her leader worriedly. Was she ok? Did she see something?

Thornstrike's neck fur stood on end Ghoststar trailed off. Were they being watched?

Silverpaw shuddered at the feeling of being watched. What did Ghoststar see? Maybe a message from StarClan, she thought.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Ghoststar shook her head to clear it, realizing how she must be worrying everyone. "I'm fine, sorry." The white she-cat muttered to Echostar. She gave her chest fur a quick lick. "What about Roseclan, Echostar?"

    ReplyDelete
  76. (it'll be revealed soon mwhahaha)

    ReplyDelete
  77. (-w- Ok... Though, I think I have an idea...)

Echostar gave Ghoststar one last worried glance. "RoseClan has been doing well; we're still small, but still strong. Due to nice weather the prey have been more active."

    ReplyDelete
  78. Oo we can talk about it over deviant art)

    Ghoststar was hardly listening.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Scorchtooth felt the hairs on his back prickle, though he couldn't find the source of why that was happening. The air was warm and still, so there was a short list of possibilities. That's when Ghoststar caught his eye. She was staring at him, as if trying to tell him something, something that she couldn't say out loud. Another vision? Eesh! These cats always know when it's the wrong time.. He heard a sweep of murmurs ripple throughout the crowd, some questionable & suspicious, others concerned. "Quiet down, quiet down. Nothing to get in a hustle about. Great StarClan, anything can excite you herd of young cats." He muttered, trying to draw their attention away from the small scene. She needs to learn how to control herself! Cats may begin to ask questions...

    ReplyDelete
  80. Ghoststar blinked from her day dream. Scorchtooth had understood her look. "Both our clans seem to be doing very well." Ghoststar faked a purr. "I suppose if there is no other news, we can all head home." She was eager to leave the clearing, hardly able to keep herself from dashing off after the red cat that seemed to have disappeared. Padded into the throng of cats, she waved her tail for her warriors to follow her back up the slope. "See you next time Echostar!" She called back, hoping the black and white she-cat would forgive her for adruptly ending the gathering.

Almonddash flattened his ears. He didn't want to leave just yet! The calico tom could have sat there with Darkmoon all night. He turned to her, taking in her lovely features. "I've got dawn patrol tomorrow...maybe Ill see you around here?" He nonchalantly asked her to meet him, trying not to be too obvious about it. What in the name of Starclan am I doing? He wasn't sure, but he knew he had to see her again. She's so hard to get to know!

Cherrywind watched the stark white she-cat with narrowed eyes. That was very odd behavior. Shrugging, she padded over to the other Roseclan cats, waving a goodbye to Brownfur.

Nightflame was glad the gathering had ended. He had managed to hide his crippled leg. Though he had noticed that Almonddash had looked as though he had particularly enjoyed this gathering and even now he seemed reluctant to let the black she-cat he was talking to go off with her clan. The dark tom padded away to the Roseclan cats, flicking his tail for Silverpaw to follow.

Talonpaw reluctantly pulled away from Tawnynight, missing the touch of her fur as cold air sunk in. "Ghoststar was odd tonight." He mewed to his mentor, padding after the white she-cat slowly. He sent a last glare at Birdpaw, hoping she wouldn't be at the next gathering.

  81. (Oh my God Cards (Yu-Gi-Oh reference) that was a long post XD)

Echostar nodded at Ghoststar, "Goodbye, Ghoststar!" She turned to her Clan. "Let's head home."

Darkmoon flicked her ears in amusement. I don't have dawn patrol tomorrow, but I do like to go hunting in the early morning. So, yes, I will most likely see you then."

Silverpaw followed Nightflame. "Did you enjoy the Gathering?" she asked.

  82. "Yeah she was but she's probably just getting used to it so you can't blame her..."she looked at him missing his gentle touch.

Silverpaw walked beside her mentor, "that was an interesting gathering..don't you think?"her voice like sweet honey trying to get to his good side.

  83. Brownfur returned the wave of farewell to Cherrywind nd padded over to join the rest of her Clan.

Birdpaw thought it strange for a leader to look away like that, but thought nothing bad of it. She happily padded over to join her Clan to prepare for the journey home. She looked around for her mentor.

  84. Almonddash brightened. "Alright well, see you around." His pale green eyes rested on her a moment longer. In a round about way they had agreed to meet here at dawn. The calico tabby had to hide his excitement and push down his guilt. He padded over to Roseclan, forcing himself not to look back. Birdpaw appeared to be looking for him so he pared over. "Hey, Birdpaw. What did you think of the gathering?" He was realived his confidence had returned. No more fumbling and the words slipped off his tongue without having to think.

Talonpaw nodded, hoping that was the case. He thought about asking Tawnynight and his arguement with Birdpaw but decided it wasn't worth mentioning. Warrior code...Starclan....my tail!

  85. Darkmoon sighed. Why did she agree to that?! They weren't from the same clan! She growled lightly to herself. It was only this one time. After that, they would only meet at Gatherings and possible patrols.

  86. Birdpaw greeted her mentor with a flick of her tail. "It was worrying," she said quietly. "I was talking with Talonpaw, you know- the fluffy TwilightClan tom. He said that they don't teach anything about the Warrior Code in TwilightClan. Earlier, you said it was important, so..."
